Sri Lanka – A new United Front to face hardships of the Female workers of the garment sector

At the conference of trade unions representing state and private sector employees, a new united front was formed in order to face the threat posed by the government in the guise of dealing with covid-19 pandemic. The proximate cause of this formation is the severe hardships faced by the female workers of the garment sector. Because of the negligence of the factory management, those factories became the epsenter of the second wave of covid-19 pandemic.
